Hyderabad: Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao on Thursday instructed the officials concerned to expedite the construction works of the new state-of-the-art Secretariat complex to facilitate its early inauguration.
The Chief Minister, who inspected the ongoing works going on the new Secretariat campus, expressed satisfaction over the speedy progress of works and appreciated R&B Minister Vemula Prashanth Reddy, Engineer-in-Chief Ganapathi Reddy and other officials for their efforts. Chandrashekhar Rao inspected every detail of the works which are in the final stages following the completion of concrete works. He discusssed all the aspects of the complex with the Minister, R&B officials and representatives of the executing agencies.
Going around the Ministers’ chambers, parking areas, secretaries and VIPs chambers, the Chief Minister gave a few suggestions to the officials. He also went around the ground floor and the corridors and the first floor. He gave suggestions pertaining to the elevation and other final works. The officials displayed gliding lights, granites and other models which will be used in the exteriors. The Chief Minister checked them for quality and colour designs, and suggested that the elevation should be bright and beautiful. The officials also showed the Chief Minister the wall gliding lights, UPPVC windows, aluminum fabrications, fluoride marbles, and various types of granites.
Chandrashekhar Rao sought advice from Minister Sabita Indra Reddy and others and finalised some models. He also checked out the model water fountain, landscape, rest rooms and meeting halls. The officials explained to the Chief Minister about the sky lounge. He expressed happiness over the way the construction was taking place as per his plans after inspecting the offices and spacious corridors.
Stating that the pace of work should be maintained, the Chief Minister said the new Secretariat complex should be such that the entire country should feel proud of it. He also instructed the officials to maintain quality and asked them to study construction of Secretariats in other States for some good and useful tips.
Besides Prashanth Reddy and Sabita Indra Reddy, MLA A Jeevan Reddy, Chief Secretary Somesh Kumar, R&B’s government advisor Sudhakar Teja, and representatives of the construction agency Shapoorji Pallonji were present.
