Hyderabad: Experts from the Central Forensic Science Laboratory and the National Institute of Fire Safety Engineering, Nagpur, have reached Hyderabad to examine the fire incident site at the Forensic Science Laboratory (FSL), Telangana.
Telangana DGP B Shivadhar Reddy on Tuesday said the experts, along with the local forensic science laboratory team, will enquire into the causes of the fire at the FSL. “They are conducting an inquiry into the fire incident. In a few days, we will know the exact cause,” he said.
Shivadhar Reddy sought to allay fears about the loss of any data during the fire. “Some people have given statements saying data related to some cases was damaged during the fire incident. This is false. Nothing of that sort happened,” he said.
Referring to the ‘Note for Vote’ case, the DGP clarified that everything related to the case was sent back to the court in 2021 itself. “Not even one per cent of the case property was at the FSL,” he said.
He added that reports related to the phone tapping case were also sent to the forwarding authority, and experts are working to retrieve data from the servers at the FSL.
