Hyderabad: Looking for a short road trip from the city that includes some super Instagrammable waterfalls?
Located 71 km away from Hyderabad and hidden in the close-packed forests is Bugga Waterfalls. Not many are aware of this picturesque place that is untouched by urbanisation.
Formed by water gushing over steep rocky inclines, the place makes for a calming view you can look at for a long time. Adrenaline junkies can rejoice as reaching these waterfalls requires hiking. Be prepared for at least an hour’s walk to reach the top.
The trail is not fit for a beginner since the path is challenging and strenuous at the same time. You have to pass through streams that are slippery and difficult at times. However, don’t be too adventurous as there will be little or no help available immediately around.
Once you’re there crossing slippery stone steps, you will lose yourself in the serenity of this place. You must visit this enthralling beauty during monsoon or winter to witness one of the most beautiful sights. It’s during the rainy season that this waterfall turns more beautiful.
Famous among locals for being calm and beautiful, one can witness the crystal clear water gushing down and form a natural pool below where one can safely take a dip. If you decide to take the plunge, don’t forget to strap on a life jacket – even if you’re good at swimming.
It should typically take you about 2.5 hours to reach the place which is in the Nalgonda district. The condition of the road is good enough and you can enjoy the ride through the countryside.
You can park your vehicles at Bugga Narasimha Swamy Temple. Make it a day trip by leaving as much as early to enjoy it to the fullest. Locals say that it is not safe enough to stay at the place till nightfall since the place is completely deserted. Also, it is advisable to go here with a group and when the weather is cool. Avoid visiting when the climate is hot and during torrential rain.
Make sure you wear hiking shoes since rocks are very slippery. Take a basic first-aid kit and carry enough water bottles and snacks with you as there are no food stalls. Keep a spare pair of clothes, socks, and shoes.
