The time we are living in is probably one of the hardest in recent years. The coronavirus is not just causing physical problems to people, but it’s breaking us emotionally and mentally.
While the government and healthcare advocates are cautioning us to stay indoors and safe, what about those who have lost all their loved ones at home? What can be worse than staying alone with all your memories? Facebook’s recent ad campaign on Eid focuses on a man who lost his parents to Covid-19 and is left all alone at home on the festival.
However, Rizwan takes it upon himself to help other elderly people in his area get access to vaccination with the help of Facebook — from getting them registered, driving them to the vaccination centre and back, and even explaining those who are hesitant to take the jab, on the importance of a vaccine.
The ad ends on a beautiful note with an elderly woman cooking delicious food for Rizwan and spending time with him on Eid, so that he isn’t left alone.
The ad has been going viral and has 128 million views on Facebook. “What an emotional & educative post. Brought tears to my eyes. Simply loved his presistance & his way of helping the aged. Wonderful,” wrote a user.
“What a touching story. Tears just trickled down my cheeks. It was unstoppable. I just loved it,” commented another user.
