Families donate organs of two brain-dead patients, save 10 lives under Jeevandan

Families of two brain-dead individuals from Rangareddy and Peddapally districts donated their organs under the State-run Jeevandan initiative, enabling surgeons to retrieve 10 organs that were allocated to patients in need, offering them a renewed chance at life.

Hyderabad: Relatives of two brain dead individuals, a 30-year-old private employee Bandi Seylone Raju from Quthbullapur, Rangareddy district and a 60-year-old farmer Budde Poshetty from Peddapally district, have donated organs of the deceased to needy patients under State-run Jeevandan organ donation initiative. A total of 10 organs were retrieved from the two-brain dead persons and were allocated to as many needy patients under the Jeevandan scheme.

On Saturday, March 7, 2026, Bandi Seylone Raju, a resident of Srinivas Nagar, Qutubullapur, while travelling in a four-wheeler met with a road accident. He was immediately rushed to a local hospital in Zaheerabad and later to a private hospital in Hyderabad. Despite receiving ICU care, his health condition did not improve and was declared brain dead on March 7, 2026.


Bandi Ramulu, the father of Seylone Raju, gave consent to donate his son’s organs. The surgeons retrieved kidneys (02), liver (01), heart (01), corneas (02), in all 6 organs to as many needy patients.

On Wednesday, March 4, Budde Poshetty, the 60-year-old farmer was on a morning walk when a two-wheeler came from behind and hit him on Wednesday, March 4. Immediately, his family members took him to a private hospital in Karimnagar and later to Hyderabad.

After emergency treatment, the patient was declared brain dead on Sunday, March 8. His wife, Ramadevi gave the consent to donate his organs to needy patients. The team of hospital surgeons retrieved kidneys (02), Liver (01) and lungs (01), (four donor organs), and allocated them to needy patients under the State-run Jeevandan initiative.
