Hyderabad: Designer fan company Fanzart has been seeing consistent growth in its business over the years with a focus on aesthetics and functionalities. The company has introduced fans of different sizes and functionalities depending on the end-user needs and is going to introduce fans for new use cases, which will be segment-first. It plans to expand into tier-2 and tier-3 cities, northern markets as well as export markets.
Tarun Lala, co-founder and ED, Fanzart, told Telangana Today, “We started our business in March 2012 with one showroom and 30 fan models. We have over 80 showrooms now, and by March 2022, we will cross 100-showroom mark. Largely, the showrooms are run on franchise model. We have over 100 models of designer fans to meet home interior needs and applications. Besides residential, we also cater to commercial, corporate, hospitality, airports and warehouses.”
The company manufactures fans in multiple countries (through 11 OEMs in Taiwan, Japan, Thailand and Turkey and manufacturing arrangement in India) and gets the designing done from a Spanish agency. The company plans to set up a manufacturing facility in Bengaluru later this year.
Fanzart has presence in 100 locations across India and Hyderabad is among the top markets for the company where it has six showrooms. The company sells over 5,000 fans per month and the average cost of each fan is Rs 15,000, which can go up to Rs 1,00,000. The company is catering to both B2C and B2B segments.
Value addition
Fanzart designed and created fans to suit Indian conditions and has come up with solutions (some pending patents) that have combined technology with functionality and aesthetics. The company also has developed fandeliers (fans that are chandeliers) and introduced whisper quiet fans.
Not only the company has automated fans but also these fans can be used as a hub/enabler to automate an entire home. Fanzart’s fans also come with sleep options, dimmers, LEDs and even a summer-winter feature where fans turn clockwise for warm air and anti-clockwise for cool breeze. A patented technology to bring automation will soon be rolled out, he added.
Fanzart has fans that incorporate Bluetooth technology, among other features that allow for seamless integration into home automation features. A puja room fan that plays bhajans, a children’s room fan that retracts, a dining room fan that lights up a space and retracts its blades when not needed.
Fanzart was the first company in India to bring in the brushless DC Motor fans, an internationally implemented technology that guarantees enormous power saving. The motor created by the company has 350gms of pure copper. Of the 112 models of fans, half have BLDC motors.
“We have also introduced capacitors to fans to handle inconsistent voltage. The blown capacitor can be replaced, and there is no need to replace the entire fan,” he informed.
The boot-strapped company will evaluate the funding needs towards the end of this fiscal. New investments will be primarily made in manufacturing, certifications, and marketing.
