Farm labourer electrocuted by crop-protection electric trap in Jagtial
Bingi Sathish (35), a farm labourer in Maredupalli, Jagtial, died after touching an electric trap installed by a tenant farmer to protect crops from wild boars. Police have registered a case, and the body has been sent for postmortem.
Jagtial: In a tragic incident, an electric trap arranged to protect the crop from wild boars claimed the life of a farm labourer in Maredupalli of Endapalli mandal on Thursday.
Bingi Sathish (35) died after coming into contact with electric wires arranged in an agricultural field.
According to villagers, a tenant farmer Kota Kanakaiah arranged electric wires around his agricultural field to protect the crop from wild boars.
Forgetting about the electric trap, Sathish went to the field to spray pesticides to the cotton crop and got an electric shock after coming into contact with live wires. He died on the spot.
Noticing Sathish was found dead, local people informed the matter to police, who began investigation by registering the case. Body was shifted to hospital for postmortem.
