Farm labourer electrocuted while crossing fence in Kothagudem
A 55-year-old farm labourer, Chukkamma, was electrocuted while crossing a fence around a cotton field in Mokkampadu village under Bodu Gram Panchayat, Tekulapally mandal, on Wednesday.
Kothagudem: A farm labourer died of electrocution in Bodu gram panchayat of Tekulapally mandal in the district on Wednesday.
The deceased Chukkamma (55), who happens to be the mother-in-law of Bodu sarpanch Pocham Swarupa, had gone to a cotton field belonging to one Lalu at Mokkampadu village in the gram panchayat for sowing seeds.
While attempting to cross the fence erected around the field, she suffered a severe electric shock as electricity passed through the fence unexpectedly and lost consciousness. The locals rushed her to Government General Hospital in Kothagudem for treatment and she died on the way.
Based on a complaint filed by family members, Tekulapally Sub-Inspector, Polireddy Srinivas Reddy has registered a case and launched an investigation into the incident.
