Kumram Bheem Asifabad: Residents of the remote villages of Jilleda and Murliguda in Penchikalpet mandal warned that they would launch a serious protest to highlight the difficulties in purchasing urea through the mobile app, in view of the patchy internet connectivity and telecom network in their villages.
In a statement on Friday, they pointed out that villagers having good telecom connectivity were easily purchasing the fertiliser through mobile phones at their doorsteps, while farmers from the two villages were losing the opportunity.
The villagers wanted the government to allocate a special quota of fertilisers to their villages affected by poor communication networks. They urged it to roll out an alternative system for placing orders.
They requested the government and the officials concerned to take steps to ease their problems in purchasing urea. Otherwise, they would launch a peaceful protest at the Penchikalpet mandal centre soon.
