Medak: Farmers placed their chappals in a long queue outside a Primary Agricultural Cooperative Society (PACS) in Papannapet mandal headquarters after the distribution of urea was delayed due to a technical glitch on Wednesday.

Issuing a receipt through an e-POS machine is mandatory while distributing urea booked online. However, a malfunction in the e-POS machine delayed the process, forcing farmers to place their chappals in a queue to avoid standing in the sweltering heat.

The incident highlighted the issues surrounding the distribution of urea to farmers in the State. Farmers who turned up at the PACS centre to collect their bags of urea had to wait for several hours.

After receiving information that urea was available at the PACS centre, several farmers booked it online on Tuesday. However, they were still forced to wait for long hours on Wednesday.

Medak district has been witnessing such issues almost every day.
