Officials said that only 15 dogs, who were diagnosed with some peculiar disease, died after being injected with the drug

Mancherial: Around 50 stray dogs were killed after being administered an overdose of anaesthetic drug in Thandur mandal centre on Friday.

According to a message going viral on social media platforms, a man from Guntur was requested to administer the anesthetic drug to the dogs when locals lodged a complaint with officials seeking steps to address the stray dog menace.

He, however, reportedly administered overdose of the drug, resulting in the death of the dogs.

However, the officials said that only 15 dogs, who were diagnosed with some peculiar disease, died after being injected with the drug.

They stated that the cause of the death of the remaining dogs was not known yet.
