Hyderabad: A fire broke out at a timber depot at Gudimalkapur in Attapur on Friday afternoon. No casualties were reported. The cause of fire was yet to be ascertained.
As per available information, fire erupted in the timber depot warehouse located at PVNR Expressway Pillar No.111 near Attapur. The flames swiftly spread to an automobile mechanic shed adjacent to it, gutting both places.
Local residents panicked at the sight of huge flames and alerted the fire department and local police.
On receiving information, the fire department personnel along with the Attapur police reached the spot and first shifted out gas cylinders kept in the mechanic shed, which averted a possible major mishap.
Using three fire engines, the flames were doused off and the situation was brought under control.
Police are investigating.
