Fire breaks out in electric bus at Karimnagar depot, blaze swiftly contained
A fire broke out in an electric bus at Karimnagar bus stand on Saturday morning. Flames erupted from the battery compartment, but the alert driver acted quickly. Firefighters reached the spot and brought the situation under control without casualties.
Karimnagar: A fire broke out in an electric bus on the Karimnagar bus stand premises on Saturday morning.
Flames suddenly erupted from the battery compartment when the driver started the vehicle to take it out of the Karimnagar-2 depot to pick up passengers waiting at the bus stand. Smoke engulfed the entire bus within minutes.
The alert driver immediately stopped the vehicle and informed depot officials as well as the branch manager of JBM, the company operating e-buses at the Karimnagar-2 depot in association with the RTC.
Depot authorities alerted the fire service department. Firefighters rushed to the scene with fire tenders and brought the blaze under control.
