No casualties were reported.
Thick plumes of smoke billowed into the sky as the flames spread rapidly, causing concern in the surrounding area. The incident also led to severe traffic congestion, with vehicles lined up for several kilometres on the busy road.
Upon receiving information, the fire department personnel and police rushed to the spot and managed to bring the blaze under control with firefighting operations.
Police said the exact cause of the fire is yet to be ascertained and an investigation is underway. Authorities are assessing the extent of the damage.
