Fire breaks out in Somajiguda apartment, no casualties reported

Panic gripped residents of an apartment building in Somajiguda, Hyderabad, after a fire broke out on the fifth floor on Sunday evening. Officials said the occupants rushed out upon noticing smoke, while fire tenders arrived promptly and doused the blaze within an hour.

Hyderabad: Panic prevailed for some time at Somajiguda when a fire broke out on the fifth floor of an apartment building on Sunday evening. No casualties were reported in the incident.

According to the officials, the fire broke out in a flat located on the fifth floor of the apartment building. On noticing the smoke, the occupants of the building rushed out into the open area.

Upon receiving information, fire tenders reached the spot and started firefighting operations. The property stored in the house was totally gutted due to the fire, which was doused within an hour.

The fire department officials are trying to ascertain the cause of the fire. It is suspected the blaze started due to a short circuit.
