Congress goons run amok in Khammam with support of Dy. CM: BRS leaders

Senior BRS leaders Sandra Veeraiah and Lingala Kamal Raju have accused the Congress government of abusing power and unleashing violence against their party workers in Khammam. They alleged that Congress workers, backed by Deputy CM Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka, attacked BRS supporters in Madhira constituency and other villages, while police acted in a biased manner.

Khammam: Senior BRS leaders Sandra Veeraiah and Lingala Kamal Raju alleged that the Congress government was making a mockery of democracy in Khammam with its abuse of power.

Speaking to the media here on Sunday they alleged that Congress goons with support from Deputy Chief Minister Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka were unleashing violence against BRS workers in the Madhira constituency. The police were acting in a biased manner, they said.

In Ramakrishnapuram, Congress workers broke the leg of a BRS worker and painted the BRS flag post with Congress colours but no case was registered despite a complaint being filed with the police. On the other hand, cases were filed against BRS workers at Kodumur village.

Congress workers brutally attacked the BRS workers at Allapadu of Bonakal mandal while they were taking a victory rally, on the pretext of vermilion powder being spilled on Congress workers.

The police altered complaint dates and registered an attempt-to-murder case against BRS workers under pressure from Congress leaders, the BRS leaders alleged.

Wyra MLA Ramdas Naik lured voters with promises of Indiramma houses even as the election code was in effect and when the newly elected sarpanch of Thigalabanjara respectfully met him, the MLA forcibly draped the Congress scarf around his neck, the leaders complained.

After the gram panchayat elections, in Jinkalagudem of Raghunadhapalem mandal in Khammam constituency, Congress workers targeted and attacked BRS workers.

The police should remain impartial and stop acting as puppets of Congress leaders. False cases filed against BRS workers should be withdrawn immediately, they demanded.

BRS Khammam city party president Pagadala Nagaraju, Mudigonda mandal president Vachepalli Lakshmareddy, Wyra constituency leaders Muthyala Venkatappa Rao, Potla Srinivasa Rao and Madhira mandal leader Chava Venubabu were present.
