Hyderabad: Panic gripped workers and residents after a fire broke out in an open yard near a chemical manufacturing unit in Jeedimetla on Tuesday.
According to information available, the fire reportedly erupted in a vacant area where old reactors belonging to Vasantha Chemicals had been stored, sending thick plumes of smoke into the air.
The dense smoke and flames triggered panic among workers working inside the factory premises, prompting several workers to rush out to safety.
The staff immediately started firefighting efforts using fire extinguishers and water pipelines to prevent the blaze from spreading. Fire department was informed.
No casualties or injuries were reported.
