Fireman attempts suicide alleging harassment by officers in Karimnagar
A fireman in Karimnagar, Manohar from Durshed village, attempted suicide by consuming pesticide, alleging harassment by senior officers Pawan and Kishan at Choppadandi fire station. Friends rushed him to hospital, where he is now undergoing treatment.

KARIMNAGAR: Alleging harassment by senior officials, a fireman attempted suicide by consuming pesticide in Karimnagar district on Monday.
The victim, identified as Manohar from Durshed village in Karimnagar rural mandal, is employed at the Choppadandi fire station. Police said he consumed pesticide on the outskirts of Erukulla and later called his friends to inform them of his act. They rushed him to hospital, where he is currently undergoing treatment.
In his statement to police, Manohar alleged that fire officer Pawan and another officer, Kishan, had been harassing him by assigning additional duties. Unable to cope with the pressure, he said he had decided to take the extreme step.
