Hyderabad: The first-ever virtual Indian Society of Landscape Architects (ISOLA) National Conference concluded in Hyderabad on Sunday. With a mission to nurture and enhance the profession of landscape architecture, the theme of the conference was ‘unbuilt landscapes’.
The three-day event was attended by several distinguished personalities including Dr Sridevi Rao, honorary national president of ISOLA, Mohan S Rao, principal design, Integrated Design (INDE), Dirk van Peijpe, founder and director, De Urbanisten, Israel Alba, founder and director, Israel Alba Studio, Ketaki Ghate, founder, Oikos, GSV Suryanarayana Murthy, founder, Kshetra and Michael Grove, Principal Landscape Architect, Sasaki. Over 750 landscape architects, planners, designers and ecologists participated in the event.
The seminars included informative lectures on issues such as analysis, design, master-planning, conservation, development and management of natural and man-made environments. The speakers emphasised that landscape architects seek to create a balanced and healthy environment through the well-being, not only of humans and their associated spaces of various scales and typologies but also the flora and fauna in it.
The next bi-annual conference of ISOLA will be hosted at Bhopal, in 2024.
