Peddapalli: A 55-year old person Godugu Lachaiah was electrocuted when a 11 kv high-tension wire fell on him on the outskirts of Bommareddypalli of Dharmaram mandal on Friday.
A fisherman by profession, Lachaiah was moving towards Bommareddypalli from his native Narsingapur on a two wheeler to sell fish in the local market. When he reached the spot, 11 kv high-tension wire passing through the area fell on him.
Lachaiah as well as his two wheeler vehicle were burnt beyond recognition and he died on the spot. Lachaiah is survived by wife and a son. Welfare Minister Koppula Eashwar visited the spot and enquired about the incident. Minister consoled the family members of the deceased and assured assistance from the government side. Police began investigation by registering the case. Body was shifted to Karimnagar hospital for postmortem.
