Five arrested in Hyderabad drug racket, Rs 70 lakh worth narcotics seized
Hyderabad police arrested five people for allegedly selling and supplying drugs in the city. Hashish oil, ganja and other property worth Rs 70 lakh were seized. Police said the drugs were sourced from Odisha and sold locally.
Hyderabad: The Hyderabad Narcotics Enforcement Wing (HNEW), along with the Langer Houz police, on Saturday arrested five persons who were involved in sale and supply of drugs. The police claimed to have seized hashish oil, ganja and other property, all worth Rs 70 lakh, from them.
The arrested are Vykunta Rao, Paul Khila, Krishna Jalla, Balaji and Chaitanya.
According to the police, the main suspect, Vykunta, with the help of Paul and Krishna, was procuring the drugs such as hashish oil and ganja from Odhisa.
After the drug consignments reached the city, Vykunta, with the assistance of his associates Balaji and Chaitanya, was delivering the consignment to local consumers and earning profits illegally, said DCP Task Force and HNEW, Gaikwad Vaibhav Raghunath.
