Five held, three cases booked for trading spurious cotton seeds in Adilabad
Adilabad SP urged the farmers to stay vigilant and help the authorities to curb the sale of counterfeit seeds.

Adilabad: Continuing its crackdown on spurious and banned cotton seeds, the Adilabad police have arrested five individuals during the last week and registered three cases for their alleged involvement in it. The police have also seized 78 packets of seeds and 10 kilograms of seeds from them.
Superintendent of Police Akhil Mahajan said that five persons were apprehended for their alleged involvement in trading the spurious and banned cotton seeds in the district and three cases have been registered against the accused persons.
He said a special campaign has been launched to curb the smuggling of banned seeds and vowed to clamp down on offenders. He urged the farmers to stay vigilant and help the authorities to curb the sale of counterfeit seeds.

He also advised the farmers to check the label of the manufacturer and date of production, batch number and expiry date while purchasing the cotton seeds.
