Telangana: Youth ends life after farm labourer father ‘fails’ to buy him BMW car
Parents say their son always wanted to lead a luxurious life, buy a BMW and build a 'modern' house by selling their two acres of land, which they refused
Siddipet: A 21-year-old youngster, who had discontinued his studies and was sitting idle at home, ended his life after his father, who works as a farm labourer, could not buy him a BMW car, at Chatlapally in Jagadevpur mandal.
According to Jagadevpur SI Chandra Mohan, Bomma Johnny, the son of Kanakaiah, had been asking his parents to buy him a BMW car for quite some time. He even threatened to end his life if they failed to do so.
Kanakaiah, who owns only two acres of land, ekes out a livelihood by cultivating the land and working as a labourer in the village as well. Johnny, on the other hand, had discontinued his studies and was staying at home doing nothing.
Citing their financial inability to buy a BMW, the parents finally agreed to buy him a Maruti Swift Dzire car and even took him to a showroom in Siddipet on Friday.
However, Johnny refused to accept their proposal and returned home without buying the car. He consumed weedicide on Friday night, after which the parents rushed him to the government hospital in Gajwel. He was later shifted to RVM Hospital in Mulug where he breathed his last on Saturday night.
The parents said their son always wanted to lead a luxurious life. He wanted to buy a BMW and build a ‘modern’ house by selling their two acres of land, which they refused to do.
