Five injured in a group clash in Sircilla

Ranjanna Sircilla: Five persons were injured in a group clash that took place in Ramogipeta of Illandakunta mandal on Sunday night. Dispute between Dalits and other communities cropped up two months ago over installation of an Ambedkar statue in the village centre.
Other communities opposed the installation, but later they decided to settle the issue through discussion. Enraged over the incident, dalits lodged a case under prevention of atrocities against SC,ST against a few persons.
The issue flared up again on Sunday night. Both the groups have attacked each other with sticks. While five persons sustained head injuries, a girl received minor injuries. A few motorcycles were also damaged in the clash.
Alerted over the incident, police rushed the spot and shifted injured persons to Sircilla hospital for treatment. Police authorities deployed a huge police force to avert any untoward incident. Local DSP Chandrasekhar was trying to patch up the issue by talking to the two groups.
