Five Osmania varsity players in South Zone squad for Vizzy Trophy

Five players from Osmania University have been selected to represent South Zone in the Vizzy Trophy cricket championship in Goa from March 1 to 7. The selection follows the university’s recent inter-university title win after 26 years

Hyderabad: Five players from Osmania University have been selected to represent South Zone in the Vizzy Trophy cricket championship to be held in Goa from March 1 to 7.

The players are Paras Raj, Anvith Reddy, Dharmapuri Sathwik, S Vamshi Kumar and VM Danush.


It may be mentioned here that Osmania University won the recent South Zone inter-university cricket championship.

And, this victory carries special significance as it marks a remarkable resurgence for Osmania University cricket, as it had won the trophy after 26 years.
“Their selection to the South Zone squad is a matter of immense pride and a historic milestone for the University, reflecting the depth of talent and the high standards maintained by the cricket programme,” Prof K. Deepla, Secretary of Inter-university tournaments, OU, and Director of DPE, OU, said in a media release.

“The University expresses its sincere gratitude to the Hon’ble Vice-Chancellor and the entire administrative leadership for their constant encouragement, strategic guidance, and unwavering support extended to the sports department. Their commitment to strengthening sports infrastructure and promoting competitive participation has significantly contributed to this achievement,” Dr Deepla said.
