On October 30, around 50 students took ill after consuming dinner at the hostel. Fifteen more students were hospitalised the next day.

A total of 63 students were discharged, but the medical condition of Class 9 student, Shailaja, is learnt to be still critical. She is undergoing treatment at NIMS-Hyderabad.
