Warangal Rural: The government is trying to make Narsampet, the biggest town in the rural district, a model town, Narsampet local MLA Peddi Sudharshan Reddy said here on Monday after laying a foundation for the construction of the integrated market at Narsampet on Monday.
Speaking on the occasion, he said that the integrated market to be constructed will be in G+2 model with 54,000 square feet area and 8,000 square feet of the parking area on the ground floor at the Bazar centre ground in the town.
“This model integrated market will have 46 meat stalls (mutton, chicken, fish), 72 stalls to sell vegetables, 18 fruit stalls, 10 flower stalls, five fish cutting stalls and six stalls for cleaning,” he said and added that they were taking all steps to prevent inconvenience to those visiting the market. “The government will also construct a cold storage unit at a cost of Rs 50 lakh for use by farmers,” Reddy said.
Later, he interacted with the vegetable vendors in an attempt to know their problems. The MLA has advised them to shift to the model vegetable market, which was already constructed at a cost of Rs 2 crore with 92 stalls, at the earliest. Reddy has thanked IT and MA&UD Minister KT Rama Rao for sanctioning funds for the development of Narsampet town.
The town is the main commercial centre for a region covering about 120 surrounding villages. The villages depend on Narsampet town for marketing their agricultural produce and for procuring their consumer needs.
