Four arrested for extorting cattle traders in Adilabad; cop among seven on the run
Seven accused persons, including Constable Sandeep and rowdy-sheeter Rohit Shinde were still at large.

Adilabad: Police arrested four persons allegedly involved in threatening and extorting money from cattle traders on NH-44 in both Telangana and Maharashtra states, with the help of a Maharashtra police constable. Seven more accused persons were reported to be absconding.
Briefing the media about the arrests, SP Akhil Mahajan said that Chetan Singh and Jangili Anwesh from Neradigonda, Masid Anand of Echoda and Mohammad Mazar, hailing from Adilabad were apprehended for threatening cattle traders travelling on the national highway and extracting money from them by threatening to kill them.
Seven accused persons, including Constable Sandeep and rowdy-sheeter Rohit Shinde were still at large.
On being interrogated, Chetan, Anwesh, Masid and Mazar confessed to collecting thousands of rupees from cattle traders in both Telangana and Maharashtra every month by threatening to register cases and to kill them. They revealed that they were taking assistance from the constable Sandeep and Shinde, the official added.
