Kumram Bheem Asifabad: Four persons were booked for allegedly smuggling ganja at Savarkaeda village in Kerameri mandal on Monday. As many as 54 kg of ganja was recovered from them. The value of the seized material is assessed to be Rs 80,000.
Kerameri Sub-Inspector Elpula Ramesh said that the accused were Pushank Ravinder, a native of Javaharnagar in Gudihathnoor mandal, Gurnule Sriram, Ade Tukaram, Vadai Bikku, all resident of Savarkeda village.

Ravinder and three were found when they were carrying a bag containing 2 kilograms of ganja in a car when he was moving suspiciously during a vehicle check. A total of 52 kgs of contraband was recovered from them when cops raided their houses. A case was booked against the four and investigations were taken up.
Superintendent of Police VYS Sudheendra warned that stern action would be taken against those who are involved in unlawful activities. A preventive detention Act would be invoked against anyone who indulges in illegal trading and smuggling, he said.
