Four held for cheating woman with passport promise in Hyderabad
The Malkajgiri Special Operations Teams arrested four persons for allegedly cheating a woman by promising to secure her passport quickly through contacts in the Regional Passport Office. The accused collected money but failed to deliver, leading to a police complaint.

Hyderabad: The Malkajgiri Special Operations Teams caught four individuals who allegedly cheated a woman on the pretext of arranging a passport within a short period through their purported connections in the Regional Passport Office (RPO).
The arrested persons were identified as Shivratri Siddhulu (35), T Venkatesh (32), V Aswin Kumar (33) and P Deepak (32).
According to the police, a woman, Shaheen Begum Sulthana, came to the passport office to enquire about her passport, which was pending issuance.
“Siddhulu met the woman and convinced her that he knew some persons in the passport office and could arrange the issuance of the passport within a day. Believing him, the woman paid Rs 6,000 to Siddhulu, but he failed to complete the work as assured,” police said.
After failing to get the passport, the woman approached the Monda Market police and lodged a complaint. The police registered a case and nabbed the four persons, who were allegedly operating as a syndicate and cheating people on the pretext of obtaining passports quickly by bribing officials.
