Rajanna-Sircilla: Free special bus services were launched for devotees visiting Rajarajeshwara Swamy temple, Vemulawada, to take part in the three-day Maha Shivaratri jatara which started on Monday.
Vemulawada MLA Ch Ramesh Babu formally flagged off the free bus service facility at Thippapur bus stand. TSRTC has deployed 14 mini-buses to transport pilgrims from Thippapur bus station to the main temple.
Endowment Minister A Indrakaran Reddy, who arrived at the temple on Monday night, will perform special pujas in the temple and have darshan of presiding deity on Tuesday morning.
Temple authorities have also pressed nine tractor tankers and 15 auto trollies into service to supply safe and purified drinking water to devotees. They have also arranged free snacks and lunch distribution facilities for the devotees. Voluntary organisations such as Vasavi Seva Samithi, My Vemulawada Trust, and Mana Vemulawada Trust have come forward to distribute free snacks and lunch to devotees for three days.
Ramesh Babu, Superintendent of Police Rahul Hegde, Temple Executive Director Rama Devi, ZP chairperson Nyalakonda Aruna, Vemulawada Municipal chairperson Ramathirtham Madhavi launched the free snacks and meal distribution centers.
Meanwhile, a large number of devotees thronged the shrine on Monday, the first day of the three-day jatara. Monday is considered an auspicious day for the presiding deity.
