Karimnagar: The district administration has decided to organise ‘Freedom Run’ in the town on Wednesday to mark the celebrations of Azadi ka Amrut Mahotsav.
On the occasion of 75 years of Independence, the Union government is organising celebrations for 75 weeks across the country in the name of Azadi ka Amrut Mahotsav.
As part of the celebrations, a run is going to be organised in Karimnagar town on Wednesday morning. The run, which starts at collectorate helipad ground at around 6.30 am, will reach SRR college grounds by passing through Prathima multiplex, Telangana chowk, R and B guest house, and the district court.
District officials, employees, sportspersons, NCC and NSS cadets, students and others are going to take part in the run in a big way.
Additional collector GV Shyamprasad Lal reviewed arrangements for the run and instructed officials to arrange dais and public addressing system at helipad grounds as well as SRR college.
Besides 108 service ambulance, two medical teams should also be arranged, he instructed district medical and health officer (DMHO). He also instructed officials to make drinking water arrangements in the enroute.
Additional collector asked the participants to report at the helipad ground at 6 am.
District education officer (DEO) Janardhan Rao, excise superintendent Chandrashekhar, district fire officer Venkanna, district youth and sports development officer Rajaveer, welfare officer Sharadha, TNGOs district president Maram Jagadesh, school games federation secretary Kanaka Sammaiah, Olympic association representative Ramesh Reddy and others participated in the meeting.
