Karimnagar Mayor involved in corruption and joined BJP to protect himself from investigation, alleges MLA

KARIMNAGAR: A war of words took place between Karimnagar MLA Gangula Kamalakar and Mayor Y Sunil Rao on the issue of the latter joining the BJP.

The Mayor along with two corporators joined the saffron party here on Saturday. When mediapersons sought his reaction on the Mayor shifting his loyalty to the BJP, Kamalakar said Sunil Rao was involved in corruption and had joined the BJP to protect himself from investigation.

Terming him a backstabber, the MLA said Sunil Rao, who joined the BRS by backstabbing the Congress party, was now shifting his loyalty to the BJP by backstabbing the BRS. Sunil Rao would definitely backstab the BJP too, he said.

Reacting sharply to the legislator’s remarks, the Mayor alleged that Kamalakar was behind scams. He claimed to expose Kamalakar’s corrupt activities and said he was ready to face any investigation.
