Kothagudem: Dry ganja weighing around 686.5 kilograms was seized and two persons were arrested at Aswaraopet in the district on Saturday.
The substance was seized during vehicle inspections at the Telangana-AP border check post. The worth of the seized ganja would be Rs 1.02 crore and it was smuggled by concealing it below a load of mangoes in a mini-pickup truck, Additional SP, KRK Prasad told media persons.
The arrested were identified as Mohamed Rahul and Mohammed Salman of Uttar Pradesh and the vehicle driver, Kampa Rami Reddy of Koulugupet in Vizianagaram district in AP. T
he substance was procured in Visakhapatnam for sale in Uttar Pradesh, he said.
