Gastrointestinal diseases are on the rise in South India, warn gastroenterologists.
YGCON-2025, a two-day international conference and workshop hosted by Yashoda Hospitals, Hyderabad, brought together global experts to discuss the latest innovations in gastrointestinal medicine. The event featured live demonstrations, expert panels, and hands-on training in advanced endoscopy techniques.

Hyderabad: A two-day international conference & live workshop titled “YGCON-2025” on the recent advances in the field of interventional endoscopic ultrasound and advanced endoscopy procedures was inaugurated by Dr. Pavan Gorukanti, Director, Yashoda Group of Hospitals.
“This international conference & live workshop will focus on the latest advances in gastrointestinal medicine, from the oesophagus to gastro-intestinal, upper gastrointestinal, gastric problems, to GI cancers, live demonstrations of third space endoscopy, interventional endoscopic ultrasound procedures, in-depth discussions by international gastroenterology medical experts on recent advances in advanced endoscopy, interactive training sessions,” said Dr. Pavan Gorukanti.
Yashoda Hospitals-Secunderabad, Senior Gastroenterologist Dr. Ravi Shankar, said, “Gastrointestinal disease (GI) is one of the fastest-growing health problems in India. The rapid increase in GI cases is a matter of concern, especially among the youth.”
Yashoda Hospitals-Secunderabad Unit Head, Dr. Vijay Kumar, said, the conference is a great platform for young surgeons to learn about the latest advances in gastrointestinal surgery.
