Hyderabad: The GHMC officials started the demolition of the four-storey building that tilted at Siddiquinagar on Tuesday evening.
The officials hired a contractor for the purpose and used the long breaker hydraulic crane. The demolition of the building constructed on 70 square yards will be completed in two days.
On Tuesday evening, the building, all of a sudden, tiled, creating a scare among the residents of the area. One of the occupants, Iqbal, jumped from the building out of fear and suffered injuries. He was rushed to a hospital for treatment.
The house owner, Laxman, said a property owner had excavated the earth in an adjacent plot for constructing a cellar, due to which the foundation of his building got disturbed and the structure tilted.
The officials decided to demolish the building as it poses a threat to the residents of the surrounding houses.
