GHMC Commissioner orders mass sterilization to curb stray dog menace in city
On Friday, the Commissioner inspected the Fatullaguda animal sanctuary, dog-catching vehicles, the operation theatre, and the pet dog crematorium. He discussed daily targets with veterinary officers, asking about the number of dogs caught and sterilizations completed each day. Ilambarithi emphasized that field-level officials should review progress daily and work toward capturing and sterilizing more dogs.

Hyderabad: The GHMC Commissioner Ilambarithi has directed the officials to carry out sterilization in large numbers to prevent the menace of dogs in the city.
The Commissioner on Friday inspected the Fatullaguda animal sanctuary, dog catching vehicle, operation theatre, pet dog crematorium. He enquired with veterinary officers as to how many dogs were caught by dog handlers and the number of sterilizations done every day. Ilambarithi said the field level officials should issue review day by day and catch a large number of dogs.
Later, when the Commissioner inspected the construction waste processing plant units, Srinivas Reddy, Commissioner of Solid Waste Management, explained that four construction waste processing units with a capacity of 500 tonnes have been set up.
Along with the commissioner, LB Ngar Zonal Commissioner Hemant Keshav Patil, Health Additional Commissioner, Pankaja, Chief Veterinary Dr.Abdul Vakil, Zonal Veterinary Deputy Director Ranjith, Hayat Nagar Deputy Commissioner Tipparti Yadaiah and others participated in the inspections.
