GHMC earns Rs 441.88 crore from Early Bird property tax scheme

GHMC collected Rs 441.88 crore under its Early Bird property tax scheme in April 2026, surpassing last year’s figures. Over 3.57 lakh taxpayers availed rebates worth Rs 23.25 crore, with Khairatabad zone recording the highest collections among all zones

Hyderabad: Taxpayers in the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) utilised the ‘Early Bird’ property tax scheme, which closed on April 30, helping the civic body earn Rs 441.88 crore within 30 days for the financial year 2026-27.

According to an official release on Friday, the total number of PTINs paid was 3,57,234, and taxpayers benefited Rs 23.25 crore under the Early Bird scheme.


In April of the last financial year 2025-26, the GHMC earned Rs 416.68 crore under Early bird collection, it said.

Meanwhile, Khairatabad Zone topped property tax collection under the Early Bird scheme with Rs 220.15 crore among other zones, while Charminar Zone was last with Rs 29.68 crore. Among the remaining zones, Secunderabad Zone earned Rs 61.22 crore, Golconda Zone Rs 56.85 crore, Rajendranagar Zone Rs 41.88 crore and Shamshabad Zone Rs 32.10 crore, totalling Rs 441.88 crore.
