Hyderabad: Mayor Gadwal Vijayalakshmi on Wednesday said the people who attacked her chambers at GHMC office were not BJP corporators but the saffron party’s activists. She rubbished allegations that she was unavailable and refusing to give appointments to BJP corporators to address issues pertaining to their respective divisions.
In an informal interaction with media persons at Telangana Bhavan ahead of the GHMC general council meeting scheduled for Saturday, Vijayalakshmi clarified that she was accessible to all the GHMC corporators irrespective of party affiliations. “But since they are alleging that I am unavailable or inaccessible to them, I am personally conducting zone-wise visits frequently to understand the local issues. After my visits, I will convene a zone-wise meeting with the local corporators and the officials to fill any communication or coordination gap,” she assured.
In response to allegations of being biased towards the ruling party corporators, the Mayor ridiculed them and stated that she was making all efforts under her purview to coordinate and facilitate the development of Hyderabad. She advised her detractors to watch the proceedings of the GHMC council meeting before accusing her of being partisan.
