Hyderabad: The Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) has decided to launch a novel initiative to quench the thirst of stray animals during the ongoing heat wave conditions. The Corporation is collaborating with voluntary organisations, which are dedicated to animal welfare, and place water bowls for stray animals at various locations in Hyderabad including Himayathnagar, Amberpet, Begumpet, Secunderabad and Malkajgiri.
For this purpose, Shakuntala Society for Welfare of Animals and Nature, a voluntary organisation, has prepared 200 water bowls that will be placed at different locations. Children of various age groups have collaborated with the Society to prepare the unique water bowls, which will go a long way to quench the thirst of stray animals during this summer.
