Hyderabad: There was a slight surge in voting percentage in the city post lunch hours, from 1 pm to 3 pm, with some areas that were sleepy in the morning finding some enthusiastic voting. Overall, however, the scene remained dull with the polling percentage across the GHMC limits being pegged at a lethargic 29.76.
Areas that registered below one percentage till 1 pm, like Rein Bazaar saw the percentage shooting up to 18.82 from 0.56, while in Talabchanchala, it went up to 24.99 from 0.74, and in Ameerpet, to 27.13 from 0.79.
At 4 pm, Ameerpet had the lowest voting turnout at 6.77 percent while Bagh Amberpet had the highest at 64.82 per cent. Among circles, the Ramchandrapuram & Patancheruvu Circle had the highest percentage with 51.71 percent, while the lowest was in Malakpet circle with 18.86 percent followed by Karwan Circle with 20.35 percent.
Apart from Langar Houz, some wards like Jahanuma (15.69) and Goshamahal (16.03) too continued to witness low turnouts.
