Hyderabad: GHMC is making efforts to increase processing of construction and demolition (C&D) waste from 150 metric tonnes to 500 metric tonnes per day (TPD) at C&D waste processing unit in Fathullaguda.
GHMC Additional Commissioner Vinay Krishna Reddy on Friday inspected the Fathullaguda (C&D) Waste Processing Plant and reviewed plant operations and practices. It was observed that the plant was receiving about 150 metric tonnes of C&D waste per day, lower than its installed processing capacity of 500 metric tonnes per day.
The GHMC official directed the officials concerned to strengthen the lifting of claimed C&D waste through monitoring of waste generators by field officials. He emphasised the need for a comprehensive action plan to ensure the plant received C&D waste up to its full capacity of 500 metric tonnes per day.
