Ginnedhari in Asifabad shivers at 6.1 degrees C as temperatures plummet
A cold wave swept across the erstwhile Adilabad district on Tuesday, with Ginnedhari in Asifabad recording a biting 6.1°C. Arli, Pembi and Devulawada also saw sub-10°C temperatures, prompting residents to stay indoors and rely on bonfires and warm clothing.

Kumram Bheem Asifabad: Minimum temperatures across several parts of the erstwhile Adilabad district plummeted on Tuesday, forcing people to remain indoors till 9 am.
According to the Telangana Development Planning Society, Ginnedhari village in Tiryani mandal of Kumram Bheem Asifabad recorded a minimum temperature of 6.1 degrees Celsius, while Arli (T) village in Bheempur mandal of Adilabad district registered 6.3 degrees C. Pembi mandal centre in Nirmal district and Devulawada village in Kotapalli mandal of Mancherial district recorded 8.3 degrees C and 9.5 degrees C, respectively.
With the sharp dip in the mercury, people from all walks of life, especially the elderly and children, kept themselves warm by wearing woollens and lighting bonfires using timber logs. Officials advised the public to drink warm water and improve immunity by consuming citrus-rich fruits.
