Girl dies under suspicious circumstances in Jagtial

A 15-year-old girl was found dead by hanging at her home in Kondapur, Yendapalli mandal, Jagtial district. Her maternal grandmother has alleged that Sahasra was murdered by her father and stepmother, citing a history of harassment following the death of her mother in 2017.

Jagtial: A 15 year-old girl, Sahasra died under suspicious circumstances in Kondapur of Yendapalli mandal. Sahasra, who was studying intermediate, was taking rest as she recently underwent nose operation.

However, she was found dead by hanging at her home on Thursday afternoon. Her maternal grandmother expressed doubts over the death of the girl. She alleged that Sahasra’s father Ravi and stepmother Savitha killed the girl and were trying to pass off the murder as suicide.

Ravi married Savitha after the death of the deceased’s mother Jyothi in 2017. Savitha and her family members allegedly harassed the girl and finally killed her, she alleged. Based on the complaint by the deceased’s grandmother, police registered a case and initiated an investigation.
