Hyderabad: GITAM Deemed to be University has issued the GITAM Admission Test (GAT) 2022 notification for admissions into various undergraduate and postgraduate programmes on its campuses in Hyderabad, Visakhapatnam and Bengaluru for the academic year 2022-23.
Addressing a press conference here on Thursday, GITAM Pro Vice-Chancellor, Prof. N Siva Prasad said the university was offering programmes in Engineering, Management, Science, Pharmacy, Architecture, Humanities and Public Policy with a total intake of over 2,200 seats.
The applicants would have to book their GAT-2022 slots online and write the entrance test from their homes. The tests would be conducted in a phased manner, he said.
In view of the growing demand for manpower in healthcare and IT sectors, Prof. Siva Prasad said the university launched a new UG programme in B Optometry in association with LV Prasad Eye Institute. Similarly, BSc Computer Science & Cognitive Systems and BTech CS&BS programmes were introduced in association with TCS from the academic year 2021-22.
The university was offering full-fledged BTech programmes with specialisation in Artificial Intelligence & Machine Learning, Internet of Things, VLSI Design, Medical Electronics, Robotics & Automation, Cyber Security and Data Sciences, Prof. Siva Prasad said, adding that GITAM is planning to introduce paramedical courses in Hyderabad campus as well.
The GITAM and IIT-Hyderabad have signed a memorandum of understanding for taking up joint research in various fields. The GITAM would be extending the scholarships to students who undertake research, he said.
The university was setting up a studio for developing online content for various courses, Prof. Siva Prasad, adding that during the academic year 2021-22, 82 per cent of the eligible students have already got campus placements in different companies.
GITAM, Hyderabad, admissions director, Dr. C Udaya Kumar said depending on the merit secured by students, the university was offering scholarships to the tune of 100 per cent, 75 per cent, 50 per cent, 25 per cent and 15 per cent. For more details, visit the website www.gat.gitam.edu.
