Gitanjali Devashray celebrated the festival of colours Holi with full gusto and enthusiasm. The pandemic did not dampen the spirit of festival but it gave them a different perspective to life.
The PP2 children started their new academic year celebrating the festival of colours. ‘Dipped in hues of love and trust has come the festival of Holi,’ was the first activity of the year. The children were taught to do free hand drawing step by step of a pichkari (spray gun) -pyar ke rango se bharo pichakri and then filled it with their favourite colours.
Students of grades I to VI were invited to participate in an art competition aptly named ‘Art Splash’. The contest was conducted at two different levels. The young artists of grades I and II displayed their ingenuity by colouring templates specially designed for this occasion, while the children of grades III-VI went on to draw and colour their own Holi themed masterpieces.
Students of grade VII-IX gave expression to the colours of Holi by framing the hues with the bright colours of celebration and nature. They enthusiastically took pictures and framed them for eternity.
This was a wonderful opportunity for all the students to unleash their self-expression and artistic abilities. They participated enthusiastically producing marvelous masterpieces. The event was judged by the art teachers Jagadamba and Komal.
