Hyderabad: For the students of Class I of Gitanjali Devashray, it was a fun-filled day, as they celebrated International Teddy Day and happily had their teddy-buddy with them throughout the day. One could see teddy bears of all sizes and colours, from Winne the Pooh to Polly the Bear! Joining the teddies, were a group of other friends such as piglet, Peppa pig, Pingu – the penguin, panda, Doraemon, Pikachu, tweet bird, mickey mouse and many more pals, who gave the class a colourful vibe. There were teddies with t-shirts, teddies with bow ties, and the list is endless.
What a bear of a time it was! The children were greeted with the ‘Honey song’ from Winnie the Pooh and they danced and sang on the ‘bare necessities’ with Balloo the Bear from the Jungle Book.
The excitement didn’t stop there, they also read a few bear stories such as ‘Brown Bear, Brown Bear what do you see?’, Where did the bear go? and many more.
A few of them did not have a teddy with them. The teachers asked them to get whatever toys they had, thus imparting a very important lesson of ‘Be happy with whatever you have’. The children had their best buddies seated beside them all through the day. On the whole, it was a much-needed break for all the little munchkins.
