Hyderabad: Students of Gitanjali Devshala had a virtual celebration of The World Audio- Visual Heritage Day on October 27. It was an opportunity for the students to present the rich culture and heritage of India through PPT, videos and quiz which the children presented enthusiastically. It was a moment where children were beaming with pride to talk about the uniqueness of India, the school said in a statement.
The students spoke in appreciation of The UN for raising awareness about the cultural heritage and promoting historical monuments and sites through which we can preserve the cultural integrity of a community as well. They even reiterated that the deterioration or disappearance of any place of cultural or natural heritage constitutes a harmful impoverishment of the heritage of all the nations of the world. Students pledge to do their bit in preserving places of heritage and historical importance.
This year, UNESCO decided on “Complex Pasts: Diverse Futures” as the theme for World Heritage Day celebrations. Monuments, festivals, food and other culture and heritage of different states of our nation need to be preserved and conserved to teach our next generations more about us, is the oath taken by the students.
