Gland Pharma donates Rs 20 lakh for Kangaroo Enclosure at Zoo
The money will be used towards construction and maintenance of Kangaroo Enclosure which is to be taken up during 2021-22 as part of CSR.

Hyderabad: Hyderabad-based pharmaceutical major M/S Gland Pharmaceutical has donated Rs 20 lakh for the development and maintenance of Kangaroo Enclosure at the Nehru Zoological Park in Hyderabad. In this regard, Raghuram, head CSR and P Sampath Kumar, CSR Member, Swathi, CSR Member at M/s Gland Pharmaceutical Limited visited the Zoo and presented the cheque to V V L Subhadra Devi, curator, Nehru Zoological Park, Hyderabad.
The money will be used towards construction and maintenance of Kangaroo Enclosure which is to be taken up during 2021-22 as part of CSR. Later the company and Zoo officials visited all the animal enclosures and appreciated the maintenance and upkeep of the Zoo. They further promised to continue their support for maintenance in the consecutive year 2022-2023.
“In this pandemic, this contribution will be very helpful in development of infrastructure like animal moats without compromising on the development of the zoo due to scarcity of funds,” Zoo curator said and appealed to all the citizens and corporates to come forward to adopt the animals and take part in the Conserving the Wildlife in Zoo.
She also informed that two pairs of Eastern Grey Kangaroos will be part of the Zoo family in the coming months and they will be coming from Yokohama Zoo in Japan.
