Google offers free Gemini AI Pro subscription to Indian students for one year
Google has launched a free one-year Gemini AI Pro plan for students in India aged 18 and above. The offer includes access to advanced AI tools, 2TB cloud storage, and integration with Google apps. Registration is open until September 15, 2025.
Hyderabad: In a major boost to student productivity, Google has announced a free one-year Gemini AI Pro subscription for eligible students in India. The offer is available to all students aged 18 and above and aims to support academic and personal growth using Google’s most advanced AI tools.
The announcement follows a recent Google-Kantar study, which revealed that 75% of Indian users are seeking a daily collaborator to help them grow and excel. Notably, 95% of students who already use Gemini said it boosted their confidence in everyday life.
Google says the Gemini app is already being used by students for a variety of tasks, including understanding complex concepts, preparing for job interviews, and exploring creative ideas. The free Gemini Advanced plan will offer students unlimited help with homework, exam preparation, and writing tasks, powered by the Gemini 2.5 Pro model.
Students will also gain access to premium features such as:
- Deep Research for academic projects
- NotebookLM with 5x higher note limits
- Gemini Live for real-time brainstorming
- Veo 3 for generating videos from text or images
- Flow for streamlined creative tasks
- Seamless integration with Google Workspace apps like Gmail, Docs, and Sheets
In addition to AI capabilities, the offer includes 2TB of cloud storage across Google Drive, Gmail, and Google Photos—ideal for storing assignments, research, and media files securely.
To avail of the free subscription, students must register on the official offer page by September 15, 2025. Google said the move is part of its mission to empower students with tools to learn, create, and grow with AI.
